Before playing any multimedia products on The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum website, please review our System Requirements.

Site Requirements
The site runs in most browsers for most operating systems. However, some features may be limited or unavailable if you are running from configuration that is not recommended. The following profiles are recommended for the optimal browsing experience.

Windows Recommended Profile:
Operating System: Windows XP Family (Home Edition, Professional Edition, or Media Center Edition), Windows 2000/NT 5
Processor: At least 500Mhz Intel Pentium/Celeron Family or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron Family or compatible
RAM: 256MB RAM +
Connectivity: Broadband (cable/DSL/T-1)
Browsers: Internet Explorer 6 or above, Firefox 1.x, Mozilla 1.x, AOL 9, Netscape 7.x
Plug-ins: Windows Media Player 9.0 or above, Flash Player 7 or above

Macintosh Recommended Profile:
Operating System: OS X or above
Processor: PowerPC G3, G4, G5 or later processor (700Mhz or more)
RAM: 512MB RAM +
Connectivity: Broadband (cable/DSL/T-1)
Browsers: Safari 1.3 or above, Mozilla 1.x, Camino 1.x
Plug-ins: Windows Media Player 9.0 or above, Flash Player 7 or above

All versions of Internet Explorer on Macintosh are not supported. Mac Safari browser users will experience slowness for portions of the site that utilize plug-in technology such as Windows Media Player or Flash Player. This slowness is not specific to the Hall of Fame Web site but to all websites that use plug-in technologies.

AOL Users:
AOL 9 is also supported. However, please note that running AOL environment consumes a substantial amount of the computer's memory and processor. This may cause occasional slowness, even on broadband connectivity. Slower or older computers are more prone to experience slowness on AOL.

Other General Settings:

  • JavaScript turned ON - this is the standard setting for all browsers. The site will not work if JavaScript is turned off.
  • Cookies enabled - this is the standard setting for all browsers. If cookies are disabled, you may experience difficulties viewing certain content.
  • Pop-up Blocker turned OFF - some applications, such as the Media Player, are launched in separate pop-up windows. You may not be able to launch these applications properly if you have Pop-up Blocker turned on.

Media Player Requirements

Video:
Hall of Fame video comes in WMV format and runs on Windows Media Player version 9.0 or above. Some free video, features, trailers, and miscellaneous video may be in Flash Video format, which requires Flash Player version 7 or higher. Some video from prior to 2005 will play in the native player.

Audio:
Audio comes in WMA format and runs on Windows Media Player version 9.0 or above.

Recommended Browsers:
While the Media Player will run on most browsers, we urge that you use one of the following browsers to achieve the best performance. If you are limited to using a browser that is not listed here, please make sure to test out the Media Player before playing multimedia content. We do not provide support for browsers that are not listed below.

Mac: Safari 2.0 or above
